OUR STORY
OUR BRAND
Our brand was developed
on the concept of mutualism.
Our logo illustrates the greater honeyguide, which exists in a mutually beneficial relationship with humans, where both parties guide each other to success. The honeyguide leads humans to beehives for honey and reciprocally, humans clear the hives of bees allowing the honeyguide to eat beeswax. This relationship of mutualism symbolises how we guide our clients to solutions which allow them to unlock maximum value from their resources.
OUR VISION
Our vision is to develop a thriving pyrometallurgical industry by unlocking value with our clients, through deeper insight into their materials, processes and equipment. We strive to forge meaningful long-term partnerships with our clients.

EUROPE
After more than two decades of working
with European clients and partners,
Ex Mente expanded its operations to Europe in 2022.
While Ex Mente Europe will continue to work in the ferroalloy
and precious metals industries, we have identified two focus
areas where we can make the biggest contribution:
-
Reduction in
greenhouse gases -
Circular
economy
Europe has set itself an ambitious target to be climate neutral by 2050, and to reduce its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 55% by 2030. The pyrometallurgical industry is a large contributor to GHGs, and is therefore a focal point for improvement.
By improving the efficiency of existing operations, and developing new processes that are effective and efficient, we can help to realise this target.
Recycling is one of the main aspects of a circular economy. However, the composition of recycled materials is often highly variable.
By designing robust processes, and using specialised calculation tools, we can help to extract the most value from these materials.
Our fundamental approach, our tools, and our methods
are well-suited to make a significant contribution in these
focus areas. Through healthy collaboration with
governments, producers, academic and research institutes,
and engineering companies, we can help guide our industry
sustainably into the future.
